Practices start very soon! 

Football will start practice Monday August 4th at 8 am.  Contact Head Coach John Wells with any questions at John.Wells@irsd.k12.de.us.

Girls Volleyball will start tryouts/practice on August 11th at 9 am in the SC Gymnasium. Contact Head Coach Mike Adams with any questions at Michael.Adams@irsd.k12.de.us.

Field Hockey will start tryouts/practice on August 11th at 7:15 am on the SC Field Hockey Field. Contact Head Coach Megan Marvel with any questions at Megan.Marvel@irsd.k12.de.us.

Boys Soccer will start tryouts on August 11th at 6 pm on the SC Practice Soccer Field. Contact Head Coach Kevin Cash with any questions at Kevin.Cash@irsd.k12.de.us.

Boys & Girls Cross Country will start practice on August 11th at 8 am on the SC Cross Country course. Contact Head Coaches Jason.Stoeckel (larry.stoeckel@irsd.k12.de.us) or Randy Ramirez (Randy.Ramirez@irsd.k12.de.us) with any questions. 

All SC Athletes must have a DIAA physical completed after April 1st, 2025 to be eligible to play this fall. 
All SC Atheltes must also be academically eligible to participate at all times.  Incoming 9th graders are automatically academically eligible. 
Athletes should bring a refillable water container to practices and games. Water is provided. 

Individual game tickets and Season Passes are on sale now.  Purchase here: Sussex Central GoFan.
Senior (65 years and older) Passses are still available for no charge at the SC Main Office. 

All games played in the The Castle (SC Stadium) and the SC gym will be live streamed via HudlTV on our channel: Sussex Central HudlTV.

Sussex Central Spring Sports will begin on March 3rd. 
All prospective winter student athletes must be academically eligible and have a physical dated after April 1st, 2024 on file to participate.

Sussex Central Winter Sports will begin on November 11th. 
All prospective winter student athletes must be academically eligible and have a physical dated after April 1st, 2024 on file to participate.

Boys Basketball 11/18 (After- School Tryouts in the Gym)
Girls Basketball 11/11 (12:30 -3 pm Tryouts in the Gym
Wrestling 11/11 (8 - 11 am Tryouts in the Gym)
Boys & Girls Swim 11/13 (3:30 - 5 pm at SAAS Pool)
Boys & Girls Indoor Track (11/12 at 2:30 pm at the Track) 
Winter Cheer (11/12 & 11/13 Practices to learn material, tryouts will be on 11/14  All after school)

Physical Exam Information

SPORTS PHYSICAL INFORMATION

It's not too early to think about your sports physical for the Fall 2021 sports season!  Get it done now before your season begins. This is what you need to beat the rush and be able to tryout at the start of the winter/spring seasons.  

• Make sure that you are a member of the Wellness Center.  There are forms that can be found on the school website in English and Spanish versions or you can pick these up at the Wellness Center.  
• Have a parent fill out the DIAA form (to the left under "links") or you can pick one up in the athletic department office.    
• Turn in both forms to the Wellness Center.  These forms need to be completely filled out and signed.  
• Schedule your appointment at the Wellness Center.

Make sure all signatures are in place on the DIAA form, if not, the forms are invalid. You will NOT BE allowed to participate in any activities until all necessary forms are complete. DIAA physicals dated as of 4/1/2021 are good for the entire 2021-2022 school year.  If you have any questions please contact Mr. McGuire at 934-3166.

 

NFHS Courses

The National Federation of State High School Associations is offering free courses to help coaches, student, and parents.  Each course takes approximately 20 minutes. The topics include:
